Sharktopus is a 2010 American science fiction horror film directed by Declan O’Brien and produced by Roger Corman and Julie Corman.

The movie stars Eric Roberts, Sara Malakul Lane, Kerem Bursin, Héctor Jiménez, Liv Boughn, Shandi Finnessey, Peter Nelson, Elgar Horowitz and Greg Norte. Roger Corman has a very brief cameo as a man on a beach.

The success of the film on TV and subsequent DVD release resulted in two sequels: Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda and Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf.

The U.S. Navy commissions a group known as “Blue Water” to genetically engineer a half-shark, half-octopus for combat. During a demonstration off Santa Monica, the Sharktopus escapes the control of its creators and causes mayhem. Hunted by Blue Water and a television crew, the monster attacks numerous beach-goers…
