WolfCop is a 2014 Canadian comedy horror film written and directed by Lowell Dean. It was the first film chosen for production from the CineCoup Film Accelerator.

Plot:
Lou Garou, an alcoholic small-town cop, begins to transform into a werewolf after being cursed when he interrupts a ceremony in the woods…

The film boasts one of the most unique werewolf transformation scenes you’ll ever see. Most films will concentrate on the head or the torso when showing human to werewolf transformations. Yes, this film offers the first shot of a penis turning lupine, which is definitely something to behold!

The transformation scenes later in the film are less eye-popping, but remain impressive, the wolf literally tearing through the skin. It’s the sort of thing that can only really work as a physical effect – CGI would make this too smooth, too fluid – and definitely sits up there with the best transformation scenes in the genre …
Werewolves often feel like the underachievers of the horror genre, rarely fulfilling the potential, but WolfCop should satisfy most lycanthrope enthusiasts with its heady mix of broad humour, sloppy gore, bad taste and action.

Production:
Filming began in October 2013 in Moose Jaw and Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and the surrounding area. It was Dean’s second feature having previously shot 13 Eerie in the same location. The film relies on “retro-style” practical effects instead of computer-generated imagery.
Release:
WolfCop was released by Cineplex across Canada on June 6, 2014, and worldwide in September 2014. A sequel, Another WolfCop, was unleashed in 2016.
