Anacondas: Trail of Blood is a 2009 made-for-television horror feature film and sequel to Anaconda 3: Offspring. Written by David C. Olson and directed by Don E. FauntLeRoy, it is the fourth and currently final film in the Anaconda series and picks up where the third film ended. It is also known as Anaconda 4, Anaconda 4: Trail of Blood and Anacondas 4: Trail of Blood),
A baby anaconda, captured at the end of Anaconda 3: Offspring, is being used for experiments by a scientist. He creates a hybrid of the blood orchids from Borneo that enabled the anaconda to grow so large and live so long and creates a serum for cell regeneration.
When he disappears and the snake escapes, Murdoch, a billionaire suffering from bone cancer, sends a team to find him (Eugene leading Jackie, Leila, Hakeem, and Armon) and the serum because that serum can cure him. He also tells them to be careful of Doctor Amanda Hayes and to kill her if needed…
“Just have some people run around the woods being chased by a big CGI snake that bears little resemblance to an actual anaconda for 90 minutes and give little regard to the plodding pace or drowsy plotting.” Dread Central
“Trashy, idiotic, badly written, terribly directed and utterly devoid of quality, it’s probably not a surprise that Anacondas 4 is a despicable mess, but it’s barely even entertaining.” Gorepress
The movie premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel on February 28, 2009, and was released to DVD June 2, 2009.
