Evil Dead is a 2013 American supernatural horror film reboot of Sam Raimi’s classic The Evil Dead (1981). The movie stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Lou Taylor Pucci and Elizabeth Blackmore.
Sam Raimi and director Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe) wrote the screenplay with Diablo Cody and Rodo Sayagues Mendez. The film was produced by Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Robert Tapert with an estimated budget of $17 million.
Evil Dead took $97,542,952 at the worldwide box office, making it a huge hit.
On October 23, 2018, Sony is finally releasing the film uncut on Blu-ray in a two-disc set that includes the R-rated version and the five minutes longer unrated version (previously only available digitally).
