Review:
Complex, bizarre yet never forgetting to be inclusive, John Dies At the End is a breath of fresh air, even though it’s not completely successful. It’s never less than entertaining. Often, it’s jaw-droppingly good. And the bottom line is that the film is fun. Sometimes, that’s all you need.

“Loaded to its breaking point with one strange (and often hilarious) scene after another, John Dies at the End is guaranteed to surprise the hell out of you every two or three minutes.” 2,500 Movies Challenge
“It’s not inconceivable that some viewers may be put off by the incessant quirkiness of it all, what with the abundance of impossible goings-on, and the fractured non-linear narrative leaping back and forth all over the place. However, the whole enterprise is handled with such charm, it’s hard not be seduced.” Brutal as Hell
“This isn’t a film for everyone (again, this seems to be a conscious decision; Coscarelli doesn’t seem to have any interest in breaking box office records), and it might just be weird, confused, confusing, and scattershot enough to place the film in the “bad movie” category…” Collider
