TerrorVision is a 1986 American comedy science fiction horror film written and directed by Ted Nicolau (DevilDolls; The Horrible Doctor Bones; Vampire Journals; Subspecies and sequels). The Empire Pictures movie stars Diane Franklin, Gerrit Graham, Mary Woronov and Chad Allen.
The film was directed by Ted Nicolaou, produced and written by Albert and Charles Band and the score was composed by Richard Band, all of whom would go on to found and work as Full Moon Features in 1989.
TerrorVision was made by Empire International Pictures, the production company owned by Charles Band prior to Full Moon. The film was given a limited release theatrically in the United States by Empire Pictures in February 1986.
It grossed a mere $320,256 at the box office and received extremely negative reviews from critics. It has since gained a minor cult following by fans of cheesy movies and so a Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo is being released February 19th 2013 by from Shout! Factory on a bargain double-bill with The Video Dead
Plot:
When Stanley Putterman installs a brand new, state-of-the-art satellite dish in his backyard, his family ends up getting a lot more than just ESPN. Unfortunately for Stanley, his satellite is a perfect receptor for a load of extraterrestrial garbage that just happened to be converted into energy and zapped into his backyard: a hideous, two-ton alien blob with a never-ending appetite…
