JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 (2017) Reviews and overview

‘Third time’s the charm’
Jeepers Creepers 3 is a 2017 horror film written and directed by Victor Salva (Dark HouseJeepers Creepers and sequel; Clownhouse). It stars Meg Foster, Gina Philips and Jonathan Breck.

Trish Jenner is now a mother of a teenage son named Darry, named after the brother she lost twenty-three years ago. Trish has a recurring nightmare where her son suffers the same fate as her brother did, killed by the Creeper.

Determined to prevent this from happening, Trish, who is now a rich and powerful woman, sets out on a final quest with Jack Taggart Sr. and Jr. to end the Creeper’s reign of terror once and for all.

The Creeper fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever before to learning the secret of its dark origins…

Reviews:
” …three quarters of the flick takes place in stark daylight, so The Creeper is anything but hidden. He’s there causing chaos in all his gargoyle-like glory, and that’s the film’s greatest strength. Breck, through body language and some truly wild-eyed facial expressions, brings this otherworldly character to life and underscores why it’s remained so popular. Even under all that makeup he is both the glue and the key to the success of this franchise.” Steve Barton, Dread Central

“When he stares a soon-to-be victim down, the whites of his unwavering eyes contrasting sharply with his grotesque, oily face, Breck’s Creeper is just as chilling as ever. In other words, he’s still got it. It’s just a shame the movie around him isn’t up to the challenge. An unremarkable entry in a cult favorite franchise, Jeepers Creepers 3 offers fans little to get excited about.” Adam Dileo, IGN

“Alternating between awkward, painful and just plain blah, Salva’s script takes no chances and seems content to churn out another run-of-the-mill slasher film. The hackneyed dialogue and nonexistent character arcs leave the poor stars little choice but to either appear listless or completely over-the-top (the wisest among them choose the latter).” Robert Yaniz Jr., We Got This Covered

“Horribly uninspired, poorly-executed, clumsily-paced, all over the place, and not even so-bad -it’s-good, this long-delayed sequel is just as problematic as the history behind it — neither darkly creepy as the first film, nor cheesy fun as its predecessor, stuffed with too many characters, but no clear protagonist to care about.” George Beremov, CineMarvellous!
