The Profondo Rosso shop named after Argento’s 1975 classic film, was founded by director Dario Argento in 1989 and is managed by his longtime partner Luigi Cozzi (director of The Killer Must Strike AgainContamination, Paganini Horror) who works irregularly at the store. It is a horror-themed merchandise shop located at Via dei Gracchi 260, Rome, Italy (near the Vatican). Cozzi has written several of the books on sale.

The shop holds regular signings with genre favourites and has the added bonus of hosting the ‘Museo degli Orrori di Dario Argento’ in the downstairs basement. This is a small audio guided tour of props from films such as Demons, Two Evil Eyes, PhenomenaOpera and The Church. Five Euros gets you in. Pray to get out…
