Mindhunter is a 2017 American television drama series. It is based on the 1996 book Mind Hunter: Inside FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit written by Mark Olshaker and John E. Douglas.

The TV series is scripted by Joe Penhall and Scott Buck. Co-executive producer David Fincher (Zodiac; Se7en; Alien 3) has directed episodes as well as Andrew Douglas (The Amityville Horror).

Mindhunter debuts on Netflix on October 13, 2017.

The series is set in 1979 and revolves around two FBI agents, played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, who interview imprisoned serial killers to try to solve ongoing cases.
