LAND SHARK Reviews of Mark Polonia’s campy ‘comedy’

Land Shark is a 2017 American action horror film written, directed and edited by Mark Polonia (Sharkenstein; Bigfoot vs Zombies; Queen Crab) for Camp Motion Pictures. The movie stars Sarah French (Death House; Insectula!; Zombie Pirates), Peter Baldo and Kathryn Sue Young (Amityville ExorcismSharkenstein; Amityville Death House).

Plot:
Lucinda Regis (Sarah French), Director of Development at MALCO Oceanic Research, becomes the target of a dangerous killer after unravelling a sinister plot to inject sharks with human DNA…

Reviews:
“The effects are so far beyond laughable that you just won’t want to laugh, you’ll just feel bad for the makers and it’s wicked to mock the afflicted. It features some of the worst performances I’ve seen in my years of covering this particularly schlocky genre and the end result is a waste of everyone and everything involved…” The Craggus

“Despite being overly silly and cheesy and obvious about its low-budget origins, there’s a lot more to like here than expected playing into those tropes which make for a wholly enjoyable effort in that style. Give this a look if you’re into these cheesy killer shark movies or are a fan of the creative crew…” Don’s World of Horror and Exploitation

“The shark itself is one of the most awesomely terrible creatures you’ll find in a Polonia film. Its skin is all wrinkly, it doesn’t have legs, and it really doesn’t look as if it could even drag itself around on land, let alone creep about unnoticed or climb things so it can jump down on people without warning […] and it seems to be a very inadequate hand puppet.” Rivets on the Poster

” …a wonky-looking but simultaneously awesome shark monster, rubber masks, toy store laser guns and a tracking device that looks to have at one point been a controller for a remote control car […] Throw in some stock footage that Mark probably shot on a trip to the local aquarium (they’re actually stock footage inserts) and the occasional use of some genuinely screwy fish eye lens tricks and yeah, this’ll work.” Rock! Shock! Pop!
