‘There is something wrong with their son’

Deep in the Wood  – aka In fondo al bosco – is a 2015 Italian horror film directed by Stefano Lodovichi from a screenplay co-written with Isabella Aguilar and Davide Orsini; it stars Filippo Nigro, Camilla Filippi and Giovanni Vettorazzo.

Winter 2010, in the Dolomites (a mountain range located in northeastern Italy), Tommaso Conci (Alessandro Corabi), a four year-old boy, disappears during an annual Krampus festival, where people disguised as devils terrorise the locals with whips and chains.

Five years later, a young boy (Teo Achille Caprio) is found nameless and without documents. DNA matches — He is Tommi. Manuel (Filippo Nigro), the father, can finally embrace his son. The mother, Linda (Camilla Filippi), however, cannot adapt to the new situation. A suspicion digs inside her: What if that child is not really her son?

The film premieres on VOD on June 13 via Uncork’d Entertainment.
