LUST OF THE VAMPIRE GIRLS (2017) Reviews and overview

Lust of the Vampire Girls is a 2017 American horror film written and directed by Matt Johnson (Ancient Evil XIV). The Some Hero Productions film stars Jeff Christensen (American Gothic; Godsend), Cherish Dawn, Mary Etuk (Sorrow), Jami Kelly, Flo Median, Victor Medina, Dave Nilson, Bri Northem, Ashley Eliza Parker and Amy Savannah.

Plot:

A man searches for his missing girlfriend, who has been abducted by a clan of vampires, led by an insane Nazi doctor. He must now battle this horde of bloodsuckers in order to retrieve the soul of the woman he loves, and save his own from eternal damnation…

Reviews:

“On the surface, Matt Johnson skimmed the exploitation genre the filmmaker was shooting for and whether intentional or not, the quality waivers from script to performance and then there are aspects that just don’t make sense (like vampires wearing gas mask..?), but it’s an atmospheric A-to-Z low-budget horror film and nothing more.” It’s Bloggin Evil

Lust of the Vampire Girls is clearly inspired by the films of horror icons Jean Rollin and Jess Franco, but it fails to really cash in on those legacies. I did appreciate the visual cues that paid tribute, with the beautiful female vampires, weird masks, and compositions, but the movie misses the mark in terms of eroticism or more to the point, sleaze.” Marc Fusion

“Certainly not a great film, and less than a great script/story unless it was designed to do what it does. Think about it too much and it makes little sense […] As for the vampires… well they are created by science, all-female and have a Jean Rollin-like propensity to wear chiffon (but also to wear underwear beneath, which the late great auteur would not have stood for).” Taliesin Meets the Vampires

Release:

The film, which is cited as a homage to European exploitation of the ’60s and ’70s, is being distributed by Wild Eye Releasing.
