KARMA (2018) Reviews and overview

Karma is a 2018 American supernatural horror film about a series of deaths surrounding a young husband who serves eviction notices.

Directed by Nick Simon from a screenplay written by Daniel Gilboy, the CineTel production stars Mandela Van Peebles, Brytni Sarpy and Kanoa Goo.

Plot:

When recent college graduate Manny has trouble making ends meet, his father-in-law offers him a job evicting delinquent tenants. Manny soon finds himself unleashing a karma demon which stalks him at every turn…

Reviews:

“Somehow, it took three people to concoct Karma’s simplistic screenplay, yet all of them wave a white flag of surrender with a batty ending suggesting no one knew how to wrap everything up. On the plus side, Karma features some surprising stunt work and other effective inclusions providing a polished presentation indie thrillers don’t always have.” Culture Crypt

“A supernatural horror about cause and effect is nothing new and Karma doesn’t even try to offer anything fresh here. It’s a lazy horror that culminates in a lacklustre ending that will have you wondering why you even bothered. It’s not fundamentally bad and for a SyFy horror, it’s a step up for them but it has no emotional stakes.” Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

” …the movie is pretty entertaining if you leave the expectation of everything explained. The acting and production are very good, in fact, it is a well-made horror film. It’s the script and overall story that can be pretty confusing, and as I said, the ending left a lot of things unexplained…” Rodney Sims
