AMC has announced at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) that it has renewed supernatural horror series NOS4A2 for a ten-episode second season. Meanwhile, The season one finale of NOS4A2 plays on Sunday, July 28th on AMC. All ten episodes of the series are available on AMC Premiere. The first season will also soon be making its way to Shudder.
Previously, Stephen King tweeted about the NOS4A2 series, saying:
“NOS4A2: Scary? Yes. Involving? Yes. But it’s also doing something network TV can’t or won’t do–showing working-class people doing their jobs and trying their damnedest (sometimes failing) to be decent. The best horror stories are firmly wedded to real life.”
Joe Hill, who wrote the novel upon which the series is based, is Stephen King’s son.
NOS4A2 is a 2019 American horror television series produced by AMC Studios in association with Tornante Television, based on Joe Hill’s bestselling novel of the same name. Kari Skogland directed the first two episodes.
The ten-episode series stars Ashleigh Cummings and Zachary Quinto. The cast also includes Olafur Darri Olafsson, Virginia Kull, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jahkara Smith (aka Sailor J).
Victoria “Vic” McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) discovers she has the power to unlock portals that help her find lost objects. As she delves further into this hidden universe, she encounters many other “inscape travellers” – some benevolent, and some who have been corrupted by their power.
Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto) is a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law.
Executive producer and showrunner, Jami O’Brien (Fear the Walking Dead) said, “As a huge fan of Joe Hill’s rich, imaginative, and exciting book, I am over the moon to be working with such a phenomenal cast and creative team on this special project.”
NOS4A2 had its world premiere at this year’s SXSW film festival in Austin, Texas.
