Nick Cutter’s horror novel The Troop coming as a movie via James Wan

James Wan‘s Atomic Monster company is turning Nick Cutter’s bestselling novel The Troop into a movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Wan will co-produce the adaptation with E.L. Katz (Syfy’s Channel Zero series, DC’s Swamp Thing series) directing from a script by Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald.

The plot of The Troop focuses on “a group of teens on a remote camping trip who must fend for themselves when their adult chaperon falls prey to an aggressive otherworldly infection.”

Atomic Monster is creating the movie along with JS Entertainment and Starlight Media. Wan is co-producing with Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear, while Judson Scott overseeing for the banner.

Meanwhile, James Wan is also producing an I Know What You Did Last Summer series, and before helming Aquaman 2 for the DCEU, the busy filmmaker will reportedly direct another – as yet unconfirmed – horror movie.
