‘It kills in cold blood’

Yeti aka Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon is a 2008 American horror feature film about the victims of a plane crash in the Himalayas and their fight for survival against hunger and the abominable snowman.

Directed by Paul Ziller (Loch Ness Terror; Swarmed; Snakehead Terror; Pledge Night) from a screenplay by Rafael Jordan (Poseidon Rex; Dragon Wasps; Copperhead) based on a story by Mark L. Lester (Class of 1984). The movie stars Carly Pope, Marc Menard, Adam O’Byrne and Elfina Luk.

Plot:

A plane flight carrying the State College Grizzlies, a college football team, crashes in the Himalayas. Surviving the crash was only part of their problem.

Trying not to starve and also become a meal for the monster lurking in the mountains will be their greater challenge…

Reviews [click links to read more]:

“The quarterback’s name is Peyton Elway, which is the funniest thing in the film.

They consider cannibalism to survive, but then – after an entire hour of the film, mind you – they get attacked by a yeti. The monster is a bad suit, except when it’s bad CGI (it leaps about 40 feet).” Down Among the Z Movies

I think the filmmakers were attempting to make a legitimate creature feature but instead, they’ve created one of the wackiest, silliest, and funniest movies that the genre has ever produced, and it all occurred within the organic flow of the filmmaking process. This genre we speak of would be the abominable snowman comedy, a genre which I believe consists of one film… this one…” Christopher Armstead, Film Critics United

“There’s a reasonable cast of characters waiting to get eaten but the film doesn’t space the deaths out, instead of confining the carnage to the final third. However when the carnage rolls, I’ll at least say that it’s gory.” Popcorn Pictures

“There is enough gore and laughable moments to keep the movie moving along nicely, and the Yeti is front and center instead of hiding in the shadows. The subpar acting is broken up by the many Yeti appearances making this one the best films Syfy has ever released.” You Won Cannes
