DON’T LET THEM IN (2020) Reviews and overview

‘Whatever you do…’
Don’t Let Them In is a 2020 British home invasion horror film about masked intruders seeking revenge against a reformed child killer.

Directed, co-produced and edited by Mike Dunkin (The Red Haven; The Lucifer Effect; The Harrowing) from a screenplay co-written with co-producer and production designer Daniel Aldron, The Way Out Pictures production stars Michelle Luther (The Red Haven), Aidan O’Neill, Scott Suter and Amanda Hunt.

Plot:
Following the brutal murder of a young girl fifteen years ago, a reformed David Pierce is released from an asylum and returns to his family home: The Twelve Bells Inn, a long-abandoned pub.

When two social workers pay a routine visit, things are clearly not what they seem.

Sinister masked intruders spark a savage confrontation, which leads to an all-out assault. Torn between their own safety and a duty to their client, the courageous heroes must outwit and fight relentlessly to survive the night…

Reviews:
“Sure the movie has its ups, downs, quirks and flaws. But don’t we all? If I learned anything from watching Don’t Let Them In is that we should indeed never judge a book by its cover. And that lesson probably goes for movies as well.” 25 Years Later

“There’s a lot of entertainment value here, everything is written well (especially in terms of backstory and personality arcs), and the performances are pretty good. Don’t Let Them In is a noteworthy, entertaining home invasion horror film. Or is that hotel invasion?” Horror Reviews by The Collective

“Director Mike Dunkin and co-writer Daniel Aldron have taken the home invasion idea and added a demonic twist to it. The plot reveals itself bit by bit as it unfolds and it becomes clear very quickly very little is what it seems. I don’t want to give away too much as that would ruin it. I’ll just say the script does a nice job of making even a couple of obvious twists surprising.” Voices from the Balcony
