Dank is a 2017 Indian horror film about a guilty doctor haunted by the ghost of a girl. The film was previously known as Kanika.
Written and directed by Pushkar Manohar, the Seven Wonders Motion Pictures movie stars Sharad Ponkshe, Smita Shewale, Ananda Karekar and Falguni Rajani.
Plot:
A renowned and reputed doctor experiences unusual paranormal activities and finds his colleagues have had similar encounters. The situation becomes critical when a crime reporter is killed and the doctor feels helpless. He confesses his past crime to his loved ones but they refuse to help and he finds himself alone facing a ghostly vengeful presence…
Reviews:
“The characters casually misrepresent facts for no apparent reason, are misinformed and take silly decisions even by horror film standards. The supernatural phenomenon is equally random, and gradually moves from creepy to unintentionally funny.” Pune Mirror
“It is neither very strong technically (although the sound department has done a good job). But Kanika makes a point; a strong one at that. For the effort, the team deserves kudos. Having said this, technical finesse and a crisper narrative would’ve worked wonders for Kanika.” Times of India
Release:
Kanika was released in India on 31st March 2017. It was released internationally via Netflix. The Dank version is available via Amazon Prime.
