This world is based on the memories of the ones who live in it – people who are currently finding themselves in a deep coma. Human memory is spotty, chaotic and unstable.

The Coma is an odd collection of memories and recollections – cities, glaciers and rivers can all be found in one room. All the laws of physics can be broken. The architect must find out the exact laws and regulations of Coma as he fights for his life, meets the love of his life and keeps on looking for the exit to the real world which he will have to get acquainted with all over again after the experience of Coma…

Reviews [click links to read more]:

“The first half of the film is fascinating, I was totally invested as I watched Viktor figure out the rules of this world and get caught up in big action scenes. The second half is slower and more low-key, and I wasn’t quite as enthralled by it anymore. It was still interesting and enjoyable, but I was hoping for more than what it had to offer.” Arrow in the Head

“It’s all very suspicious, but not terribly interesting, akin to getting stuck at a loud party where a boisterous, drunken Russian has pinned you against a wall to tell you the story of his boring relatives, over and over again. The visuals, however, are the film’s saving grace, filled as they are with grand monuments and complex buildings and highways that crisscross the sky in opposing dimensions.” Screen Anarchy

Coma premiered at the Flash Film Festival in the Czech Republic on 19th November 2019. It was released theatrically in Russia on 30th January 2020 and various other countries before the pandemic lockdown. Dark Sky will release Coma in the USA on DVD and Blu-ray on August 4, 2020.
