The Suicide Squad is a 2021 American superhero action film and a standalone sequel to the first Suicide Squad movie from 2017.
Written and directed by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy franchise; Slither), based on the comic book by John Ostrander, the movie stars Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Alice Braga, Jai Courtney, Nathan Fillion, Pete Davidson, Michael Rooker, John Cena, David Dastmalchian, Sean Gunn, Storm Reid, Peter Capaldi and Taika Waititi.
