A young woman named Mila is kidnapped. The unknown abductors keep her in an old garage, talk to her through a loudspeaker and set strict rules: she must not sleep but has to fulfil weird tasks that they’ve prepared for her. “It’s all wonderfully dismal […] The nightmarish sequences, both live-action and animated, are choreographed and executed with a deftness I long to see in more horror films that utilize such implements. It’s a film on level with its contemporaries from a technical standpoint, it simply lacks the narrative heft and cohesion.” Killer Horror Critic
“Sleepless Beauty is well-made and doesn’t get over-the-top on gore, a valuable restraint. It does mean however that the film falls a bit between two targets. Gorehounds may want more pepper, while I could have done with a bit more thriller.” Screen Anarchy
Sleepless Beauty is being distributed by Black Mandala Films.
