The Leprechaun’s Game is a 2020 British horror film about thieves who are sent to hunt urban legends but steal a pot of gold instead. Soon, they will realise the price they must pay for stealing a leprechaun‘s gold. Also known as Vengeance of the Leprechaun and Vengeance of the Leprechaun’s Gold.

Directed by Louisa Warren (Scarecrow’s Revenge; The Mermaid’s Curse; End Game; Tooth Fairy and sequel; et al) from a screenplay co-written with Shannon Holiday (Amityville Cornfield; Rise of the Mummy; Mandy the Haunted Doll; et al). Produced by Scott Jeffrey and Louisa Warren. Filmmaker Steven M. Smith (Dead Again; The Haunting of Borley Rectory; Doll House) was an executive producer.

The ChampDog Films–Greenaway Entertainment production stars Daniel Sawicki (Rise of the Mummy; Cannibal Lake), Louisa Warren, Bao Tieu (Cupid), Magda Vero (V vs V;  Bride of Scarecrow) and Faith Kiggundu (Cannibal Troll; Cupid). American genre-regular Shawn C. Phillips has yet another cameo role recorded over the web.

“As if it’s not bad enough that he’s normal-sized you can clearly see where his mask ends and a normal looking neck begins in several scenes. He doesn’t even wear green or have an Irish sounding accent […] Even with these issues The Leprechaun’s Game could have still been an entertaining film if the script and direction had delivered the goods. Unfortunately, the script is so weak that there’s no suspense. And the kills are filmed in a flat, dull manner and are lacking in gore even when he uses his machete instead of his magic.” Voices from the Balcony

An inexplicably tall leprechaun with the poorest makeup and worst faux-Irish accent in filmic history, combined with zero suspense or horror, stilted acting and occasional fluffed lines adds up to another weak effort from ChampDog Productions, although it’s thankfully not the worst of their shamelessly shoddy releases.
