Reviews:

” …Rogue is pretty much what you’d expect it to be with some impressive action scenes which are then let down with piss poor CG. Megan Fox is hilariously miscast and I would have preferred someone like Zoë Bell in the lead as she is convincingly badass. Watch while inebriated/stoned or as a double bill with Primal (or both) and you’ll enjoy the silly ride.” The Action Elite

“The CG is awful. There’s no Game of Thrones CG in Rogue. I’m guessing the CG in an episode of GoT cost more than the entire budget of Rogue. We also get more than one team member going out like Samuel L. Jackson in Deep Blue Sea. They say something crazy, and the damn lion eats them. Multiple team members die by lion.” Bulletproof Action

Rogue feels like they are trying to say something as firm and as loud as possible. Yes, this is an action movie that can be described as mindless and fun at times, but there’s always the underlining text about the lion farms and the human trafficking that isn’t glaring, but definitely takes center stage more than you’d think for a film that stars Megan Fox playing a game of cat-and-mouse with a lion.” The Daily Rotation

“The digital lioness is so awful that it seriously looks like a placeholder effect that someone forgot to finish, and it looks even sillier in a couple of scenes where Fox’s Sam tries to negotiate with her woman-to-woman, or rather, bitch-to-bitch to reference the star’s climactic quip that falls so flat that if you listen closely, you can probably hear the crickets chirping on set.” Good Efficient Butchery

“Director MJ Bassett has crafted a straight-to-DVD action film, which is pretty passable in those regards. The real surprise comes in the message it conveys, especially as it pops up so suddenly at the end. In spite of this, it’s undeniable this film’s heart is in the right place, intending to bring awareness to lion farms. Here’s hoping this film achieves that very goal.” The Reviewing Rodders

Rogue is definitely a popcorn flick, but one that does have a message involving wildlife. Underneath the surface it is clear. Don’t mess with Mother Nature…especially if it is a lioness. Plus, seeing Megan Fox in a different type of role is quite refreshing.” World Film Geek
