HOWL (2021) Reviews of Little Red Riding Hood horror

Howl is a 2021 American horror film about a young woman who leaves a sanitarium in order to watch over her grandmother’s house. As she descends into madness, she must decide whether to be devoured or embrace her true nature in this re-imagining of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’

Written, directed and starring Michele Martin, the Dark Butterfly Pictures also stars Kenny Johnson, Scott Hamm and Poppie Harris.

Reviews:

Howl sounds a much better film in description than it does in reality. In practice, it often feels like a student film that has pumped a great deal into atmosphere and mood but little that actually advances the plot in any direction. Indeed, once Dulcina arrives at the cabin, the film seems to come to a standstill and centre around a great many scenes of her in the snow…” Moria

“The plot hangs by a thread on effects the film can’t afford, so we get shitty 3D once in a while. We get composited snow; the best kind! Other than that, well, the protagonist comes with baggage. She’s a psychiatric case imprinted with sadness, a plot point injected early. Way too early.” Tales of Terror
