Reviews:

“For the most part, Hunting the Legend is a scrappy independent effort that does more right than it does wrong. Justin Steeley and friends set out to make a simple movie and they do just that without phoning in their contributions. Hunting the Legend has little to show for originality or wow factor, but it does have respectable heart from filmmakers wisely avoiding a reach beyond their means.” Culture Crypt

“Unoriginal, cliched, found footage guff. Skip it.” DVD Compare

“Although the acting in Hunting the Legend is good, it’s far from perfect. The film has an excessive degree of arguing and whining amongst the three main protagonists towards the latter part of the film – almost to the point where I found myself hoping a Bigfoot would kill one of them just to put an end to the bickering.” Found Footage Critic

“Chris isn’t much of a likable character from the start and by the end, you couldn’t really care less what happens to him or his buddies who are stupid enough to stick by him. Found footage movies are ten a penny nowadays and for this genre to continue and succeed, there needs to be fresh ideas with solid execution to grip and engage the viewer.” Horror Cult Films

“Justin Steeley had an opportunity to take the Sasquatch lore and turn it into something great, but there just wasn’t that final payoff that there needed to be. I was hoping for some more clear glimpses of the beast, but perhaps it is better off this way. Just like in real life, we still don’t know what the real monster looks like…” Repulsive Reviews

“With the main body of the feature being the actual forest-based hunt for the creature, there’s a modicum of disappointment as it veers disappointingly into Blair Witch territory with a forty-five-minute nocturnal pursuit that gradually chips away at your patience.” The Schlock Pit
