Plot:
After witnessing a crime in London and looking for a place to hide for a while, Arnaut is offered a job by charming yet ruthless local Vesna to look after a cemetery in a small remote village in Serbia.

Unfortunately, Arnaut soon starts to have nightmarish visions and is frequently visited by the mysterious older woman Baba Draga who drags him into the darkness. Only the village priest seems to be trying to keep him safe from the sinister intentions of the villagers…

Reviews:
Vampir is an unfortunate wasted opportunity, a chance to show a lesser represented culture’s take on iconic folklore. Its clear Tomović has talent, but this feature directorial debut is disappointingly toothless.” 1 out of 5, Cinerama Film

“Vampir is a film that relies heavily on the atmospheric tension and dread that it’s creating to captivate us the audience, making us feel just as a paranoid and isolated as Arnaut feels when he tries to communicate with the local villagers, who are acting rather oddly around him. There are some interesting scenes that are displayed here that capture that tension perfectly […] Unfortunately, the film takes so long to tease and setup the conclusion that it felt more tedious for me than engrossing…” 1.5 out of 5, Irish Cinephile

“Harping back to a time before vampires sported body glitter, and rendered all the more chilling through being inspired by the superstitions surrounding “real vampire cases” in eighteenth-century Serbia, Vampir is a beautiful and frightening journey towards a destiny as unavoidable as it is bleak. Abounding with creepy triplets and dribbling crones, you’ll never look at a headscarf-wearing granny the same way again!” Raindance
