JACK VS. LANTERNS (2017) Reviews of one of the worst movies of all-time

‘Prepare to get smashed.’
Jack vs. Lanterns is a 2017 American comedy horror film about the titular young man who has to fight pumpkin-headed monsters. The movie is a sequel to Lumber vs. Jack (2014)

Written, directed by and starring Jason Liquori, the movie also stars Monique Parent, Jennifer Wenger, Christina Daoust and Michelle Prenez.

Plot:
Jack Woods (Jason Liquori) is back and this time the troublesome plants he’s facing are pumpkins. Genbetter has been growing gourds and the massive orange veggies are on the attack. Can Jack and his friends stop an invasion of pumpkin-headed monsters?

Reviews:
“Technically, Liquori does seem to have learned a bit from his previous effort, and this is more polished, although still some way short of slick. The most obvious grating feature is huge quantities of superfluous green-screen work […] The big plus is Parent, who shows the difference between a professional actress and… everyone else.” Film Blitz

“The majority of the pumpkins in this movie are horribly fake. Possibly made by someone who has never seen a pumpkin before. The main actor talks to himself a lot in an unnatural way that explains what’s going on […] The lighting is super odd in many scenes. Oversaturated, dead skin tones.” Ryan Letterboxd
