‘This party’s going to be killer!!!’
Harvest of the Dead: Halloween Night is a 2020 British horror film about a mad doctor that unleashes his creation at a party causing mayhem. The movie is a sequel to Harvest of the Dead (2015).
Co-written and co-directed by Terence Elliott and cinematographer, editor and producer Peter Goddard (Clownsploitation; Maniacal; Any Minute Now; Season of the Witch).
The Devils Avalanche Films production stars Dani Thompson, David Spinx, Tim Faraday, Terence Elliott and Abby Wareham.
Plot:
It’s the day after the events of the first film and Sally Burns and her friends are preparing for a Halloween party. As the evening of fun kicks off, unbeknownst to them, The Plague Doctor and The Creature are preparing to join them…
Reviews:
“While the central arc of Halloween Night sees the slow-developing conversation and exposition, it’s beautifully interjected with scenes of murder and mayhem to keep you waiting for the final climax. Kudos for the clever use of budget that focuses on practical effects over CGI and as a result, the deaths on display are eye coveringly convincing…” Bloodguts UK
“Halloween Night is terrific fun, quite a step up from the already rather bonkers 2015 original. The vaguely Lovecraft-esque story arc with the mad Moore is nuts, sitting awkwardly with the soap style drama of the partygoers’ various tiffs and romances […] the gore scenes are impressive and properly old school splattery, and the script offers up some nice ‘story within a story’ moments.” Dark Eyes of London
“Centered around the distraction of the party, it comes off enjoyable as the stalking and ambush tactics are well-handled and put in just right to keep interesting going with all sorts of various elements brought into play here. It’s got enough to like with these factors and the brisk pace that the few flaws here aren’t that bad.” Horror Screams Video Vault
