Inspired by Injustice: Gods Among Us, and the best-selling DC graphic novel based on the video game, Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One by Tom Taylor, the animated film finds an alternate world gone mad – where The Joker has duped Superman into killing Lois Lane, sending the Man of Steel on a deadly rampage.

Now unhinged, Superman decides to take control of the Earth for humanity’s own good. Determined to stop him, Batman creates a team of like-minded, freedom-fighting heroes. But when superheroes go to war, can the world survive?”

Reviews:

” …seriously great and one of the best DC animated films in a long time. Even though it doesn’t hit quite as hard as the story from the video game, it’s nevertheless a bold and unsettling story of how far one superhero will go to obtain peace in the world […] I would’ve liked to have gone a bit deeper into Superman’s thoughts here because they definitely aren’t as well-realized as they were in the game.” Caillou Pettis Movie Reviews

“Due to the abundance of superheroes, there is always something happening on the screen and in terms of animations and action there is little to fault. I only wish the story was a little less rushed and better constructed. As a result, it ultimately remains a somewhat confused and emotionless whole, which will not stay with you for very long.” Seal_Team1138 [translated from Dutch]

  1. If there wasn’t a game and a large comic source (made AFTER the game) then yes this movie by itself it’s fine.

But if ANY reading of the comics or if you’ve played the game; this is the largest pile of crap I’ve ever seen leave DC animations. It’s so far off the mark of the source it took it 80% of what made the story intriguing and emotionally captivating.
They tried to impossibly and I emphasize IMPOSSIBLY try to cram all the stories into one short movie.

If anything just either follow the source that made it good or just make a stand alone movie.
The WHOLE comic was about the fight between Batman and Superman. And they didn’t fight once.
