The Bob’s Burgers Movie is a 2022 American animated musical comedy mystery adventure film based on the animated television series.

Co-directed by Loren Bouchard and Bernard Derriman (Bob’s Burgers; Central Park) from a screenplay written by Loren Bouchard and Nora Smith, developed and created by Jim Dauterive and Loren Bouchard.

The movie features the series voice cast: Kristen Schaal, H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, and Eugene Mirman, plus David Wain, Kevin Kline and Zach Galifianakis.

Plot:
A fractured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob’s Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers’ plans for a successful summer.

While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family’s restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope and fight to get back behind the counter, where they belong…

Reviews:

“The film is rife with the puns and gags for which the show is known, although some of the film’s best jokes are delivered entirely straight-faced, like when one supporting character randomly shares that he’s never eaten a meal outside before, or the wharf’s celebratory anniversary banner reads, “80 years of this!” It’s a charmer — let’s just put a bit more spice on the next one.” IndieWire

“While the Movie is a joyous, juicy feast for Bob’s Burgers fans, it is self-contained enough that newcomers won’t feel alienated. The characters are drawn so perfectly – both literally and literarily – that after a few minutes we know exactly who everyone is and what motivates them, a rarity with many modern films that seem to enjoying hiding their true intentions until the last possible minute.” Screen Anarchy

Release date:
In the United States, 20th Century Studios will release The Bob’s Burgers Movie theatrically on May 27, 2022.
