The Batman 2 has been officially announced with both writer-director Matt Reeves and star Robert Pattinson returning.

Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group Boss Toby Emmerich made the announcement during a CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas. There was no comment as to whether other cast members such as Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell and Zoe Kravitz will be returning.

Matt Reeves also joined the panel and expressed his gratitude as to how well received the 2022 hit has been: “Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter.”

The Batman has so far taken $759,274,579 worldwide at cinemas on an estimated budget of between $185 to 200 million.

Let’s hope that Zoe Kravitz returns as Catwoman and that Matt Reeves can bring his vision to the screen with a more sensible running time. Meanwhile, check out our continued coverage of the first movie which now includes Reeves’s commentary over the deleted Arkham Joker scene.
