Release:
Following its world premiere at South by South-West (SXSW), Jethica played at Busan International Film Festival, Mayhem Film Festival (British premiere) and the Abertoir Horror Festival.
Jethica will be released On-Demand (VOD) and Digital download in the UK and Ireland by Lightbulb Film Distribution on February 6, 2023. The film will be available on AppleTV, Amazon, Sky Store, Virgin Media, Google Play and RakutenTV.

Jethica has such an endearing quality; the offbeat humour, the chemistry between the two lead characters, and Kevin (the stalker), whose skewed perspective allows meaningful conversations between the abuser and the abused. Director Pete Ohs is a visionary filmmaker – an exciting new voice in elevated-genre. We are thrilled to be bringing his latest feature to audiences in the UK and Ireland.” commented Lightbulb Film Distribution Sales & Acquisitions Director, Peter Thompson.

Reviews:
“It’s concise and exacting in the delivery of its plot, though sometimes to its detriment. While the film doles out just enough backstory to like and sympathize with its characters, it never goes deep enough to make the pay-off feel fully earned. Jethica feels like the middle act of a much more compelling film and is a rare example of a film that could have done with a smidge more exposition.” B+ Collider

“The fact the small, but outstanding cast collaborated on the script with Ohs, who also served as the crew and lacked producers or a budget, makes Jethica an incredibly impressive example of DIY filmmaking. Boasting standout performances from Madden, Hernandez, and Robinson, a highly imaginative story, and excellent comedic timing, Jethica is a blast.” 4/5 Daily Dead

“There is a completely unnecessary wraparound […] However, the story and the performances are solid, and that’s what this film is about, exploring these characters, living and dead, friend and foe, and trying to find an empathy even when forgiveness is not an option.” Screen Anarchy

“Hernandez and Robinson deliver strong lead performances that are defined by strength and resolve, while Madden and Faulkner are more simplistic and narrow-minded. This film makes great use of its concept and a minimalistic approach, engaging with ideas in a way that doesn’t require extensive sets or effects. Its brief runtime is the best sign that this is among the most direct and effective ways of telling a story…” Shock Ya!

” …we start to see the story unfold before us with all the detail and witty tongue-in-cheek humor that any person telling a story would include. Because of that conceit, the movie is a lean 63 minutes of an interesting story well-told — and that’s what makes it great.” Smash Cut

“It’s got an endearing quality to it with its two main actors who have excellent chemistry, and Kevin’s obsessive, skewed perspective on things allows for meaningful conversations between the abuser and the abused. The tone almost works well together but is occasionally played up too light to bear weight. It’s a film about trauma and abuse, but it sometimes wears itself like it’s just about a ghost who can’t let go…” Tilt
