Witchboard is a forthcoming American supernatural mystery horror film; it is a reimagining of the 1986 movie of the same name by Kevin S. Tenney which initially spawned two sequels: Witchboard: The Devil’s Doorway (1993) and Witchboard III: The Possession (1995).
Directed and co-produced by Chuck Russell (Paradise City; I Am Wrath; The Scorpion King; Bless the Child; Eraser; The Mask; The Blob; A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors) from a screenplay co-written with co-producer Greg McKay (producer of Book of Fire; Night of the Demons 2010; Brain Dead 2007) based on characters created by Kevin S. Tenney.
Also produced by Bernie Gewissler and Kade Vu. Executive produced by Sarah Buxton, John Paul Isham, Walter Josten, Yannick Sadler and Eric Schiermeyer.
The A-Nation Media production stars Madison Iseman (Knights of the Zodiac; Fear of Rain; Nocturne; Annabelle Comes Home; Goosebumps 2), Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building), Antonia Desplat (Shantaram), Charlie Tahan (Ozark) and Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things series).
Plot:
Emily (Madison Iseman) and her fiancé Christian (Aaron Dominguez) discover a mysterious Wiccan artefact, a pendulum board, as they prepare to open a bistro in New Orleans’ French Quarter.
Darkness descends over Emily as she becomes obsessed with the board’s power of divination and ability to summon spirits. Desperate to help his fiancé, Christian seeks the advice of occult expert Alexander Babiaste (Jamie Campbell Bower).
However, Babiaste has secrets of his own, including his connection to a modern-day coven of witches. A dangerous game begins as each swing of the pendulum puts Emily’s very soul at risk…
