” … Contracted: Phase II feels too hurriedly conceived to expand on the original’s premise in more than perfunctory fashion. The short running time means there’s nary a dull moment, but also that no new (or even old) ideas get explored in more than drive-by fashion, the occasion pause for gore aside.” Variety
” … it’s impressively light on its feet given that it’s slogging through the twists and turns of a plot heavy on maggots, gore and rotting flesh. And overall the film goes above and beyond the call of necrotic duty and occasionally hits the sweet spot between familiarity and difference…” Film Journal International
“Pointless body horror sequel Contracted: Phase II doesn’t develop its predecessor’s concepts so much as it resolves all of the questions you never needed answered. It also follows all of the supporting characters from the first film that you you never needed to learn more about.” RogerEbert.com
” … only the occasional attempts at dark humor providing saving graces. Genre fans, at least, should be satiated by the copious amount of gore and viscera on display, although whether they’ll be hungry enough for the next installment — all too obviously set up for at the conclusion — is another matter.” The Hollywood Reporter
“At the very least, the film looks good, and the makeup effects (by Mayera Abeita) are so disgusting, they might put some of you in varying states of internal distress. The open sores on display here are some of the most revolting sores put to film, and when the characters start to dig their fingers into these sores it’s downright horrifying.” Gruesome Magazine
