TxT is a 2006 supernatural Filipino horror film directed by Michael Tuviera (Shake Rattle and Roll 8 – segment: “LRT”; Shake, Rattle & Roll 9 – segment: “Bangungot”; Shake Rattle & Roll X – segment: “The Engkanto Slayer”) from a screenplay by Penny Daza-Tuviera and Paul Daza.
The film stars Angel Locsin, Dennis Trillo, Oyo Boy Sotto, Julia Clarete, Dante Rivero and Eugene Domingo.
Roman (Oyo Boy Sotto) dies in a car accident. However, in a restless and unforgiving state he continues to prove his affection for his former girlfriend Joyce (Angel Locsin). He embarks on a malevolent journey in order to keep Joyce. She therefore begins to receive hair-raising text messages and even gets “death photos” of people close to her, including that of her current beau Alex (Dennis Trillo).
Initially, she ignores the morbid messages, but when the deaths happen under the exact circumstances at which they were predicted, she realises she must fight the evil behind all these to protect her loved ones from this supernatural force…
Reviews [click links to read more]:
“Of all the film’s lead actors, Dennis Trillo is the only one who gave quite a solid performance. But, unfortunately, even him cannot save this film from turning into a big pile of crap. At times, Txt turns out to be ridiculous, even though it’s not meant to be that way. The way the victims shake their heads every time they receive a call from Roman (Oyo Boy Sotto) is one of the funniest things I’ve seen onscreen.” Iza Larize, Somewhere in the Depths of Cinema
” … for a Filipino horror movie, it was above average. finally, something different. most Filipino horror movies include abandoned houses, lost travellers, vases… you get the picture. and the movie seems timely, what with the Philippines being the so-called ‘texting capital of the world’ rage, but it won’t be enough to scare the pants off of people.” Strange Antithesis, IMdb.com
