Reviews:
“The film is well-paced, if anything it’s a touch on the fast side, and as the stakes are raised and past bleeds into present it races to a truly shocking conclusion. It does leave you to answer some questions yourself which won’t be to everyone’s taste but personally, I felt this was an interesting artistic choice and it worked for this film.” Angela Nolan, All Horror

“Overall, the pace is quite glacial for low-budget horror and it struggles to maintain tension and foreboding. The final scene delivers, but audiences may well have lost patience waiting by then, or forgotten which protagonist’s safety they cared about and why. This unfortunately is the main issue with They Talk.” Del Grady, All Horror

“Director Giorgio Bruno has put together a film that looks and sounds gorgeous, yet really doesn’t do anything you haven’t seen before. That’s fine — it does have some genuinely wild kills, a bravura moment where a nun is lit ablaze and is way more professional than 99% of the movies you find streaming these days.” B&S About Movies

“There’s a large quantity of atmosphere, and the movie’s art direction and locations support this. If only the writers and editors had collaborated more on communicating suspenseful information over just creating beautifully photographed suspense…” Hugh Bennie

“The adherence to the well-established aesthetics of the most recent European horror thrillers becomes in They Talk a limit for a potentially interesting story, however, translated into a sometimes predictable and inconstant development despite the good ideas and a cast that is partially demonstrated.” 2.5/5 Madmass [translated from Italian]

“Hampered by dodgy dialogue, an incoherent script, and a floundering international cast, who look just as being as confused as I was, They Talk is a baffling befuddlement on many levels and without a doubt the most confusing flick I have ever had to sit through.” My Bloody Reviews

” …the Italians know how to make spooky, weird supernatural horror (like Fulci’s City of the Living Dead and The Beyond) but it seems director Giorgio Bruno was looking more to the US market for inspiration rather than Europe. Which is a total shame as throwing in some more insane Italian influences could have raised They Talk above the average.” 2 out of 5, Nerdly

“Despite some minor flaws, They Talk still manages to show all the commitment and passion that the director has towards horror cinema and it’s a pleasant way to spend an hour and a half.” L’occhio del cineasta [translated from Italian]

“Now narratively this film is a little hard to follow, as its mythology is a bit murky, not all character motivation are very clear, and not all reveals actually reveal as much as they ought to. But one can only marvel at how beautiful the movie’s filmed, and not just for an indie at that. And its powerful cinematic language makes this movie very effective…” Search My Trash

They Talk doesn’t have a lot in the way of effects but what it does have are well done. That includes a fire scene that was shot with a stunt performer rather than using CGI and an altar decorated with body parts […] Despite a plot that’s overly familiar, and at times seems a bit muddled, They Talk certainly held my attention.” 3 out of 5, Voices from the Balcony
