Love Will Tear Us Apart is a 2023 Japanese mystery slasher film about a young female student grappling with a traumatic past.
The movie was directed and co-produced by veteran filmmaker Ken’ichi Ugana (Visitors; Extraneous Matter). It was also produced by Masashi Omino and Sayaka Tôma.
The movie stars Jun Amaki, Yuzu Aoki, Mitsuru Fukikoshi, Sayu Kubota, Atsuko Maeda, Akaji Maro, Ayumu Mochizuki, Riko, Anna Suda, Hitomi Takahashi, Shunsuke Tanaka, Tanri and Yûtaro.
Plot:
Wakaba Mashita (Sayu Kubota) is a young woman grappling with her traumatic past. As she ventures into new romantic relationships, she realises she is being followed by a relentless masked murderer. This mysterious killer targets anyone who dares to get close to her, turning her quest for love into a fight for survival…

The movie was shown at the Portland Horror Film Festival, Genre Blast, Be Afraid Horror Fest, Grimmfest, and the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival in 2023.
Red Water Entertainment will release Love Will Tear Us Apart on Digital and On-Demand (VOD) on April 16, 2024.
