When former LAPD officer, Brett Irlam takes a job as head of security at an old apartment building in Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia, he soon begins to experience a series of bizarre and terrifying events.

Once he begins to delve deep into the building’s sinister history, and investigate its shadowy owners and past employees, Brett soon uncovers a malevolent force nestled deep in the bowels of the building in the basement that will do anything to be set free into our world…

Reviews:

“In a film regularly punctuated by vivid nightmares, the mere presence of Englund references the actor’s past horror filmography as the iconic dream-demon Freddy Krueger […] It’s an uncanny amalgam which, though pointedly derivative, to an extent confounds through the sheer multitude of its influences – and takes full advantage of very atmospheric sets.” SciFi Now

“All the signs are present that the building – impressive locations and art direction – is on top of a gateway to hell, dimensional rift, phantom zone or monster-populated void … and Brett is plainly in the line of succession as its guardian, with the previous office-holder wheezing his last in the penthouse.  But it doesn’t quite come together…” The Kim Newman Web Site

“In a typical ghost story fashion, viewers shouldn’t expect to see much in the way of answers until the eleventh hour. But the conclusion does manage to deliver some legitimate scares, even if it does begin to resemble a cross between The Exorcist and an episode of Goosebumps.” The Hollywood News

” …the climactic encounter is a confusing, boring mess of scrappy editing, and it underlines the film’s complete lack of effective scares. Up to that point we’ve had the sounds of scampering feet, crash cuts, jump scares and glum strangers spotted in upstairs windows, so by the point of the “Big Reveal” the movie has already collapsed under the weight of its clichés.” Nerdly
