Darkness Wakes is a 2017 British supernatural horror film written, produced and directed by Simon Richardson. Also known as The Sitter
The Sinister House Films production stars Aisling Knight (Exorcism (2014); Three’s a Shroud), Richard Kilgour, Jill Buchanan (Heretiks; Sasquatch), Samantha Schnitzler, Bjorn Franklin, Nick Bridge-Butler, Jane Paul-Gets and Matt Veckman.
Plot:
When Charlotte – a beautiful, broke student – is offered a job cat-sitting in a vast Georgian manor house over a long weekend, at £200 per night, she can’t believe her luck. However, her employers are far from being the harmless eccentrics that they appear to be.
When darkness falls, things start to take a far more sinister turn. Charlotte is unable to shake the feeling that her every move is being watched and it is not long before her worst fears are confirmed: there is something evil in the house with her…

In the UK, the film was released on DVD by Left Films on 28 August 2017. The disc includes behind-the-scenes footage and trailers. Wild Eye Releasing released the movie in North America in June 2018.
