Lyst aka Lust is a 2017 Norwegian horror-thriller film written and directed by Severin Eskeland (Detour).
The movie stars Magdalena From Delis, Sondre Krogtoft Larsen and Damian Gallagher.
Plot:
A famous crime writer becomes a victim herself after a crazed fan brutally attacks her. She isolates herself in her apartment trying to cope and get on with her life.
However, when she starts to experience more and more strange events, she and her psychiatrist question where reality ends, and fantasy takes over.
It doesn’t take long before she is convinced that her attacker is back stalking her, filming her, but is everything just in her imagination?
Writer/director Eskeland has commented: “It’s not a splatter film, although some media has used that description […] for me this is a psychological thriller with some heavy doses of extreme violence and carnage here and there.”
Release:
Lyst was picked up by Another World Entertainment and in April 2017 the film was widely released in eighty-five cinemas in Norway. It is the first Norwegian film in ten years to get an ’18’ certificate.
In the UK, the film is released on DVD as Lust by Matchbox Films on 28th October 2019.
