Musallat – translation: “Haunted” – is a 2007 Turkish supernatural horror film directed by Alper Mestçi (Üç Harfliler: BedduaSiccîn franchise; Üç Harfliler 3: Karabüyü) from a screenplay co-written with Güray Ölgü (Gen); it stars Burak Özçivit, Biğkem Karavus, and Kurtuluş Şakirağaoğlu.

Mestçi directed a sequel, Musallat 2: Lanet, in 2011.

Suat (Burak Özcivit) is a young Turkish labourer who leaves his new bride Nurcan (Bigkem Karavus) behind in Turkey and joins his childhood friend Metin (İbrahim Can) in Berlin where he can earn some money. There, he is haunted by dark visions that eventually drive him to attempt suicide.

When the doctors in Germany can find nothing wrong, Suat and Metin return to Istanbul to seek the advice of spiritual healer Haci Burhan Kasavi (Kurtuluş Şakirağaoğlu). An exorcism seems the only solution…

Musallat opened in Turkey on November 16, 2007, and became one of the highest-grossing Turkish films of 2007.
