KHAMOSHI (2019) Reviews and overview

‘Fear the silence’

Khamoshi (“Silence”) is a 2019 Indian horror thriller film and an unofficial remake of Mike Flanagan’s Hush (2016), where a deaf and mute girl must fight for her life when a killer appears at her door.

Directed by Chakri Toleti (Kolaiyuthir Kaalam – which has an almost identical plot) from a screenplay written by Sara Bodinar and Dheeraj Rattan, the Pyx produced movie stars Deepak Anand, Tamannaah Bhatia, Bhoomika Chawla and Prabhu Deva.

Reviews:

Khamoshi could have been an entertaining film but falls flat due to his lack of narration being engaging hence leaving us with fewer thrills and chills.” Movie Koop

“If Chakri Toleti had simply copied Hush as it is, Khamoshi would have been better and not like the typical Bollywood thriller that it has turned out to be. Both Tamannaah and Prabhu Deva are mediocre in the film. Sanjay Suri and Bhumika Chawla hardly have any scenes and the rest of the supporting cast do not make an impact.” Rediff
