THE CREEPS (2021) Preview of Finnish comedy creature feature

‘The Creeps are coming to destroy your holiday season!’

The Creeps is a 2021 Finnish action comedy horror film about two young Americans attending the Monsterfest event in Finland. However, the party is soon interrupted when the Creeps – small but lethal – take over and mayhem ensues!

Written and directed by Marko Mäkilaakso (It Came from the Desert; War of the Dead).

The Black Lion Pictures and Frozen Flam Pictures production stars Christopher Lambert (Mortal Kombat; Highlander; Greystoke) and Chris Cavalier (Hidden Figures, Teenage Bounty Hunters) alongside Iiro Panula. Produced by Miika J. Norvanto and Timo Puustinen.

Blurb:

“Inspired by 80-90s classics like Gremlins, Critters and Highlander, The Creeps brings in Nordic style to the subgenre. The creatures are designed by Disney veteran Barry Atkinson (The Lion King, Heavy Metal, Pocahontas, An American Tail, The Land Before Time).

Co-producer Miika J. Norvanto stated: “We are extremely happy and excited that we get to produce The Creeps with Mäkilaakso. We have been planning a film together for a long time, and now we can finally get to work on it. Of course, having Christopher Lambert with us is a dream come true in so many ways. This is an awesome start for Kajawood and it’s international productions still to come.”

Co-producer Timo Puustinen added: “We finally get to carry out this genre I love, and which I miss from my childhood. 1980-90s nostalgia, action, comedy, and innocence. Pure unexcused entertainment.”

The Creeps will be a very entertaining, popcorn-flick for a large audience, and it is insanely great that Christopher, Chris, and other actors are in this fun adventure.” asserted director-screenwriter Marko Mäkilaakso.

Production and release date:

The Creeps is filming in March in Kajawood, Vuokatti and Jyväskylä in Finland. The producers are aiming for a premiere in December 2021 in Finland followed by international distribution.
