‘Perfection has its price’
Breeder is a 2026 horror film about an eccentric dog breeder who lures a broke college student to her remote ranch with a promise of research funding. However, as he soon learns, there’s a catch.
The movie was written and directed by Alex Goyette, making his feature directorial debut.
The production stars Daniel Doheny, Dot-Marie Jones, Maddie Phillips.
Plot [contains spoilers]:
A college student dedicated to developing a gene-editing solution to help the endangered bee population struggles to secure funding for his research. His fortunes seemingly change when a wealthy miniature poodle breeder offers financial backing and invites him to her secluded ranch.
What begins as a promising opportunity soon reveals a far darker purpose as he discovers her ambitions extend beyond breeding animals. Isolated and under her control, he becomes entangled in a disturbing plan involving human reproduction with him as the stud. Faced with an impossible choice, he must either submit to her demands or risk everything in a desperate attempt to escape…
