Plot:
It’s senior year of college for sorority sister Emily Young (Lisa Ambalavanar) and for the first time ever, Sigma Lambda Theta is having elections for who will be president. Wanting to have a killer year, Emily Young decides she might just be the best option for her sorority.

While beginning her campaign, she finds an adorable sloth that steals her heart and soon figures out she just might steal the hearts, and votes, of her sorority sisters.

However, when bodies slowly begin to pile up in the Sigma Lambda Theta house, Emily and her sorority sisters realise the deaths are being caused by their new house mascot, the cuddly sloth Alpha.

Will Emily and her sisters escape the house with their lives? Or is this death sloth with three razor-sharp claws too quick for them?”

Reviews:
“It isn’t just that it’s a film about a murderous sloth that tears around a building like an adorable Jason Voorhees, but that it’s been made with an unnecessary amount of affection for the genre it spoofs. There are subtle nods to Gremlins, The Shining, Fatal Attraction; nothing overt or showy, but just enough to let you know that Slotherhouse is an act of love. It is also tremendously funny.” The Guardian

“Equal parts sorority comedy and wildlife slasher, Goodhue amplifies party horror vibes finely tuned toward weekend watches with your trashy-movie-club friends. Kill sequences beg for a smidge more gore, and the characters are a touch stereotypical, but a star is born in Alpha. There’s plenty to appreciate as the film’s slothy slaughterer lays waste to territorial sisters who become distracted by popularity contests. IGN

“Visually, Slotherhouse does a lot on a relatively small budget, thanks to creative direction from Matthew Goodhue. A clever depiction of social media, portraying hashtags, hearts, and reactions transposed atop characters in Sims-esque bubbles, provides an extra layer of lushness to the visuals. The film is also overflowing with clever horror references […] The movie has flaws, yet remains fun and entertaining at all times.” ★★★½ Josh at the Movies

“Embedded between all the carnage and murder is an unexpected message on poaching, and taking wild animals out of their natural habitats, along with a vicious critique of social media. It’s a very important message that we didn’t expect to find hidden beneath all the sloth mayhem, and it comes across well, as the film is anything but preachy. Slotherhouse’s message does somewhat elevate the movie slightly more than just a brainless 90-minute animal attack/slasher movie with a killer sloth.” ★★★★ MovieWeb

“The film’s effects are practical, even Alpha who’s an animatronic puppet rather than a CGI creation. She’s not the most realistic creature to grace the screen but the results are acceptable and manages to walk the line between cute and creepy […] An enjoyably silly horror comedy, Slotherhouse is better than one would expect from hearing the concept.” ★★★ Voices from the Balcony
