Reviews:
The Knocking leaves a bittersweet taste in the mouth. With an idea with quite a bit of potential, it hasn’t played out as well as it could have. Although correct, it would have been much more interesting to take the course of the final stretch much earlier and deeper. Still, it’s a decent film debut that hints at the possibility of a promising future for its directors in horror movies…” 6.5 out of 10, Cinemagavia [translated from Spanish]

“The dysfunctional relationship between the estranged siblings is initially built up quite exciting. In flashbacks, we experience the less-than-harmonious childhood and youth of the main characters. In the switch from crime drama to supernatural horror, however, many interesting ideas are then lost. The work becomes a spookfest about forest spirits that tends to miss the finer nuances.” 3 out of 5, Spielfilm [translated from German]

“Perhaps the best, surprisingly, is the ending. The resolution is funny, and it’s quite a poetic image. And when there are elements of terror (which there are) it doesn’t work badly at all. It’s not bad for a first film, let’s hope that his team brings us more tasty things in the future.” 3 out of 5, Terror Weekend [translated from Spanish]
