Reviews:
” …this is a movie that puts its lead through hell yet so much of that is of his own making. This is unlike any movie I’ve seen and worth your time.” B&S About Movies

“This is mostly a one-man show, and Phillips turns in a solid performance. His character goes through the emotional ringer as the feature deals with heavy themes of loneliness, grief, and addiction. Instead of a cheap rubber suit monster, we have a gnarly creature that’s the extension of one man’s very damaged psyche. Subject is a tense and intelligent chiller.” 7 out of 10, Horror Buzz

“Phillips is on screen for the majority of the film, and he gives a fine performance depicting his complex character. Challenging, intriguing, and at timSubject es heartbreaking, Subject blends the real-life horrors of drug addiction, psychological unraveling, and loss with otherworldly horror in a highly original genre outing that comes strongly recommended.” Horror Fuel

Subject winds up being a great story and a lot of fun by the time the credits roll, but I’ll put this one on the dividing line for most people who will argue back and forth on the film’s initial pacing and mechanics. Still, there is a lot worth starting a conversation about in Subject, and that alone should make it worth seeking out.” Horror Obsessive

” …a directorial effort that’s both genre-savvy and has a feel for the grotesque, the surreal, the trippy. And a very strong performance by Stephen Phillips as pretty much the film’s sole point of focus throughout really carries the film well to help make this into a pretty unique genre experience.” Search My Trash
