Reviews:
We Are Zombies is an uneven zom-com until the third act’s elegant gala backdrop becomes a living impaired feeding ground. You’ll have tons of fun with the gore once circular saws spring geysers of bloody juices and will laugh heartily throughout. There’s just less to get excited about in certain scenes, like behind closed Coleman doors.” 7 out of 10, /Film

We Are Zombies is a delightful, if slight, entry into the zombie sub-genre. It never goes beyond its surface-level observations, but it also doesn’t have such lofty ambitions, so it’s hard to hold that against it. Plus, it’s so goddamn charming you’re going to have a difficult time not having a complete and utter blast with it.” ★★★½ Bloody Disgusting

“You hardly learn anything about the characters. There probably wasn’t enough time for that, and maybe there wasn’t even enough money to make everything a little bigger. But it’s enough for an enjoyable horror comedy with likeable chaotic characters and some funny ideas […] We Are Zombies is  a welcome and successful comeback from the directing collective…” 7 out of 10 Film Rezensionen [translated from German]

“The story kind of loses sight of itself as it enters the second act […] By the end of the film you’ve forgotten completely that the granny is even a character. The film is a lot of fun and is well paced, so you don’t mind as much, but if you’re coming here to see a coherent story, you’re going to be disappointed.” ★★★½ The Fright Club

“Another fun entry into the growing RKSS catalogue, We are Zombies also has a lot of interesting innovations for the zombie comedy genre. Sickening gore is married with sweet relationships and hearty humour to create a zombie film that more than lives up to the RKSS brand.” ★★★★ The Hollywood News

“With We are Zombies, the Turbo Kid makers RKSS prove that fresh ideas can still be found in tired genres. Unfortunately, the trio doesn’t get much out of its interesting premise and focuses more on repetitive spoof humour than on developing any identity of their own.” 4 out of 10, Movie Break [translated from German]

“These zombies abide by the Return of the Living Dead rules, where they have the ability to speak, and decapitation isn’t enough to kill them (again). A showdown in the final act packs in a lot of action and a lot of jokes, so many that the audience has very little time to react and laugh in between. However, gorehounds and wrestling fans alike will be hooting and hollering with each successive kill.” 90% Nightmare on Film Street
