Reviews:
“There is no suspense, no intrigue, no appeal, no stakes. Nothing. I absolutely hated this movie. This film should be avoided at all costs. Spin the Bottle is a two-hour vapid time thief whose only feat is setting the horror genre back a few decades.” Cinefied
“Benefit of the doubt trusts that the filmmakers had sincere intentions, but didn’t have the (fill in the blank) to come anywhere close to pulling off whatever they were trying to do. Unless they wanted to make an overlong yawner with pancake-flat visuals and characters with the personality of mayonnaise, in which case, job well done.” 15/100 Culture Crypt

“While Ali Larter and Justin Long definitely provide some star power, the characters they play are largely underdeveloped and feel recycled from their past horror roles […]The PG-13 rating holds this back from delivering the intense horror and gore that fans might expect from a ghost/demon-themed slasher. The result feels tame, underwhelming, and overly familiar, despite a promising concept—Spin the Bottle lacks the memorable quality of far better genre movies.” ★ Josh at the Movies
“Spin the Bottle had potential to shine as a b-horror film with some familiar faces, but it failed to do anything that new or exciting. We don’t need to make every party game into a horror movie… although I’ll probably keep watching them!” TV Fanatic Girl

“Effects are next to nonexistent. Spin the Bottle is very much a PG-13 film, and there’s only one even mildly gory scene. Apart from that, the kills are bloodless or off-screen. Granted, effects alone couldn’t have saved this mess, but they might have at least helped break up its many long dull stretches and reams of expository dialogue.” ★ Voices from the Balcony
