The Book of the Dead is a 2024 horror film about a group of young students who discover an ancient demonic text.
The movie was written and directed by Mattia Sarao (Asteroid Storm), making his feature directorial debut. It was produced by Luke Boni, Alexia Melocchi and Mark Ristori, and executive produced by Valentina Cau and Mario Niccolo Messina.
The production stars Matteo Accardi, Matteo Avanzati, Bianca Mazzei, Luce Pedrini, David White, Marco Ristori, Andrea Bruni, Tommaso Beneforti, Maddalena Pasquarelli and Niccolo Sarao.
Plot:
Autumn, 1988: A group of college students—Bailey, Quinn, Keith and Mac—embark on a seemingly ordinary study project in a secluded rural villa. Unbeknownst to them, the villa harbours an ancient and mysterious tome with dark secrets. They inadvertently awaken forces beyond their comprehension as they delve deeper into their project.
The students find themselves entangled in a web of suspense and mystery, as they struggle to understand the true nature of the text and the ominous presence it brings. Their journey is filled with unexpected discoveries and challenges, leading to a gripping climax…
